I’ve been called a lot of things in my life– daughter, sister, the human version of the 100 emoji, etc. Around Chatterkick, I’m called a Social Media Resident. It sounds like a cool job title, because it is. Let me explain.
Our Social Media Residency program is a super unique, 3-6 month program that thoughtfully transitions you into a permanent Chatterkick employee. It’s like the cooler, smarter older sister of the internship. Led by the Chatterkick team, this program pushes you to navigate the ins and outs of the agency setting. As Chatterkick’s first Social Media Resident, I’ve had the opportunity to pioneer this awesome program and shape it into what it is today.
Each day as a Social Media Resident is different, but here’s a taste of what I’ve been getting into.
- Office shadowing: I’ve gotten to try on all the hats at Chatterkick by shadowing team members with several responsibilities. Our team members have trained, monitored and strategized with me to implement their ideas and tactics
- Content creation: I’ve been able to work closely with creative specialists and community managers to brainstorm, create, and implement killer content for our clients.
- Quality control: The more eyes on a project, the better. I get to spot check the work of others around the office to make sure it’s mistake-free and ready for the client.
- Scheduling and packaging content: I plan, and wrap up content with a bow for clients across all social media platforms.

- Pitch creative ideas to clients
- Write blog posts (hey!)
- Conduct client audits
Chatterkick Social Media Residents have to be adaptive, personable, and willing to go above and beyond to produce highly effective results. It’s a big job, but someone’s got to do it.
